Our Philosophy
We believe in the whole horse, the whole being, telling us the story of the individual’s health. Everything is connected within the body and our combination of services are uniquely designed to get to the primary issue causing disruption in performance. Through the combination of bodywork and barefoot trimming, a horse gains an increase in ability to know where his body is relative to his environment, how much force or stretch is needed to create a desired movement and general balance is measurably improved. Overall health improvement is our mission; through nutrition, hoof care, and “whole body” work.
Finding the root of a problem is always a process. We start with what first presents and then begin to work through the layers until body reaches balance, or homeostasis, wherein it can heal and manage itself. The process of helping the body balance is time consuming and requires commitment for the long-term success of horse and rider. In addition, we are continually developing cooperative working relationships with equine veterinarians and other practitioners creating integrative rehabilitative care plans for each individual.
About “Lu”…
A nickname that stuck since Freshman year of Undergraduate College, Leeann, a.k.a. Lu pursues knowledge to facilitate equines of all levels of performance. A graduate of the Vluggen Institute for Equine Osteopathy, Leeann Garnas, EDO adds this skill to her list of other equine modalities: a certified equine acupressure practitioner through Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in Colorado, a certified sports massage therapist, and a barefoot trimmer. Leeann facilitates young and old, performance and 4-H horses around her region, specializing in performance and rehabilitation cases and working closely with surgical and rehabilitative teams to return horses to their careers, maintaining a high level of performance. Leeann has an understanding of the whole horse, making them more comfortable in their work and daily life. Leeann's specialties take her around the United States, traveling to Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon, Idaho, Michigan, Texas and California. . . so far.
